Formula 1 arrives at the Hungaroring circuit for the Hungarian Grand Prix , the fourteenth round of the 2025 calendar . After the first two practice sessions, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have established themselves as the most competitive drivers of the weekend. McLaren remains strong after their one-two finish in Belgium. Norris led the timesheets by just 0.00019 seconds over his teammate. Charles Leclerc finished third, just a few tenths behind.
Friday also provided a pleasant surprise with Aston Martin , which managed to move into the front positions. Lance Stroll posted the fourth-fastest time in FP2, while Fernando Alonso , absent from FP1 due to a muscle injury, returned and finished fifth . The Asturian's presence encouraged the Spanish fans. However, neither Carlos Sainz nor Max Verstappen found any rhythm. Both finished outside the top 10, more than a second off the best time.
