Carlotta Wamser replaced the injured Giulia Gwinn at the 2025 Women's European Championship. She received a red card in her second match against Sweden.
Carlotta Wamser (21) will play as a right full-back for the German national team at the 2025 Women's European Championship. She was called up after captain Giulia Gwinn suffered a knee injury in the first match against Poland and is now cheering on her team from the bench . Her European Championship appearance came as such a surprise that the national coach even had to contact her mother first because he didn't have Wamser's number. He finally got her on the phone – while she was on vacation in Crete.
In the second group match against Denmark, Wamser was able to demonstrate her skills for the first time – and made a good impression. However, in her second match against Sweden on July 12, the 21-year-old was sent off with a red card for handball.

- SGS Essen (2020-2022): Moved to the Bundesliga at the age of 16, immediately became a regular starter and her team's top scorer. Fans voted her Player of the Season.
- Eintracht Frankfurt (2022–2025): Initially unable to establish himself as a regular, but proved valuable as a substitute. A loan to 1. FC Köln followed in early 2024, before returning to Frankfurt.
- Bayer 04 Leverkusen (since July 2025): She has been under contract with Leverkusen since summer 2025 and brings her Bundesliga experience to the team.
Wamser won the European Championship with the U17 team in 2019 and was selected to the All-Star Team. She made her senior national team debut in May 2025. She represented all the junior national teams and has been awarded the Fritz Walter Medal multiple times (bronze in 2020, silver in 2022).

Carlotta Wamser completed basic training for sports soldiers with the German Armed Forces in Hanover until the beginning of 2023. Since April 2023, she has been studying business administration via distance learning at the Fernuniversität Hagen.
During her time in Frankfurt, she shared an apartment with a teammate. She describes herself as "funny, relaxed, and sometimes a bit absentminded." Carlotta is called "Calle" by friends and teammates.
