The Nations League tournament shows that the German national football team and its coach Nagelsmann can and want to play, but sometimes seem naive when things get serious.

The host had made an interesting discovery, but before he could share it, he was discovered himself. "Boss, boss, a photo, please!" shouted a few spectators who interrupted their walk home for the boss. Alex Wehrle is a sociable person, so why not? He let himself be taken in stride by a few selfies and may even have enjoyed them. "1893, hey, hey," sang the cell phone camera owners, thus proving themselves fans of the local traditional Stuttgart club, which was founded in that year and is therefore a respectable seven years older than the German Football Association, which was using the Stuttgart stadium for its own purposes that afternoon.

The decision comes in a penalty shootout: Portugal wins the Nations League for the second time because Spain's Álvaro Morata is the only shooter to miss. Cristiano Ronaldo is forced off injured, suffering and celebrating.
