German coach Thomas Tuchel and England secured a decisive victory in Serbia. After much criticism, the English press was more than just conciliatory after the 5-0 victory. The coach, too, was very pleased with his Lions' performance.

Coach Thomas Tuchel has received much praise following England's 5-0 thrashing in Serbia. "It was the night Thomas Tuchel marked the turning point in his time in England, the night all the criticism that had followed him to Belgrade seemed to be forgotten," wrote the Guardian after the comfortable victory, which brought the Three Lions closer to next year's World Cup qualifiers in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

The Sun newspaper saw "by far the most impressive performance" from England under their German head coach. "In previous qualifying matches against Albania, Latvia, and twice against Andorra, Tuchel's team failed to truly excite the fans. This game, however, was both entertaining and convincing," the paper wrote. The Mirror saw a "five-star performance" and described the team's play as "brilliant and ruthless."

England secured their fifth win in five qualifying matches. Bayern striker Harry Kane (33rd minute), Noni Madueke (35th minute), Ezri Konsa (52nd minute), Marc Guehi (75th minute), and Marcus Rashford (90th minute/penalty) scored the goals against the previously unbeaten Serbians. "We put in a very strong performance," said the 52-year-old Tuchel. "I think that was teamwork in its purest form. We supported each other and showed the right intensity at the right times."

Tuchel lets England dream again

England put in a "brilliant performance" against the Serbs, wrote The Times, adding: "The era of Thomas Tuchel has begun." The Telegraph concluded: "Under Thomas Tuchel, fans can finally dream again after England soundly beat Serbia."

Tuchel's joy was clearly evident after the statement victory. "We had an excellent week, from start to finish," said the former FC Bayern coach. "We simply showed what I saw every day in this training camp, and that makes me very happy."

The strongest performance under Tuchel against the supposedly strongest opponent in the qualifying group also left Harry Kane puffed out before the press. "We can be proud of ourselves. It's been a great training camp, and we're in an excellent position," said the captain, whose header in the first half had initiated the decisive victory. "Serbia are a good team, but tonight we made them look average."
