World Snooker Championship draw LIVE: Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump learn fates

World Snooker Championship draw LIVE: Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump learn fates
Jack McEachen

In the next two days, Ronnie O'Sullivan will decide if he will compete at the World Snooker Championship.

He has sat out all competitive tournaments since January, but reportedly enjoyed a good week of practice in Saudi Arabia and is leaning towards playing.

"I haven’t made my mind up," the Rocket said last week. "I’ll probably make a decision on maybe the 17th or 18th of April.

"I’d love to be able to go there and play, I’d love to be able to have the confidence to be able to get my cue out and go and play snooker.

"I just need to give myself as much time as possible to see where I’m at with it, and see whether it’s something I’m going to be able to do."

A host of top players fell during qualifying, most notably Jack Lisowski who will not be featuring at the Crucible this year.

The Essex potter, often compared to Ronnie O'Sullivan, is yet to win a ranking title in his career and has been described as the most talented player never to do so.

Stephen Maguire, Stuart Bingham and Anthony McGill also failed to qualify.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is in the draw for the 2025 World Snooker Championship, he will be given his opponent today, assuming the Rocket does not pull out of the competition in the next hour.

The seven-time world champion has not competed professionally since January, however, when he snapped his cue at the Championship League.

He is set to make a late decision in the coming days over whether he will play in Sheffield.

Though Sky Sports claim that he is leaning towards competing after a promising week of practice in Saudi Arabia.

The draw for the World Snooker Championship is seeded, meaning the top 16 players cannot be drawn against each other in the first round.

We won't be getting Ronnie O'Sullivan against Judd Trump right away.

The top 16 will each be drawn against a player who came through qualifying, which was completed last night.
