Watch: Carlow club in relegation trouble after score controversy

Tinryland could appeal the result of their controversial Carlow SFC round-robin encounter with Bagenalstown Gaels which has consigned them to a relegation playoff.
Last Sunday's Group 2 Round 3 clash at Netwatch Cullen Park ended in a 0-14 to 1-11 draw, but was overshadowed by the contentious decision by one of referee Marion Hayden's umpires to wave what looked like a perfectly good point by Niall Lowry in the 15th minute wide.
The decision came back to haunt Tinryland who needed to win to stay in the championship and avoid the relegation final against Éire Óg.
“If it is clear and obvious well then we cannot sit back. There is too much at stake,” Tinryland chairman Bernard Mullen told the Carlow Nationalist when asked about the possibility of an appeal being lodged.
“As of this minute, I have no idea what is what. We are only dealing with humans but if it is clear and obvious then we have to decide.”
TweetThe chance in question which has led to huge debate in the wake of Tinryland’s draw with Bagenalstown Gaels in the Carlow SFC. The effort wasn’t given, the game ended in a draw & had Tinryland won the game, they would’ve avoided the relegation play off.
