Tyrone Star Misses All-Ireland Minor Final On Back Of Premier League Move

There will be a major absence from the Tyrone team for this weekend's Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final against Kerry, with there being no place for Joel Kerr after his recent move to the Premier League.
There had been some confusion over the Rock St Patrick's availability for this fixture. Kerr recently signed a three-year contract with West Ham, having signed from Glentoran.
With that deal commencing at the start of July, it remained to be seen whether the 16-year old would be allowed to play against Kerry.
However, he will not be included in the panel for the clash in Newbridge after he was denied permission from West Ham to take part in the fixture. He is expected to link up with the English club this month.
Tyrone star to miss minor final after Premier League moveKerr scored one of Tyrone's two goals in the semi-final win over Roscommon in June, having also scored 1-2 in the Ulster final triumph against Cavan. His presence in the squad certainly would have been a massive boost ahead of this weekend, although it is still expected to be an exciting affair.
The Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final will take place in Newbridge this Sunday at 1.30pm, with a sizeable crowd expected for the decider.
Tyrone will be looking for their first triumph in this grade since 2010, with Kerry on the hunt for their first All-Ireland crown since they completed a remarkable five in-a-row back in 2018.
This will be the first time that this pair have met in the decider of this competition since 2004, an occasion where Tyrone would run out as winners on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-10. The pair also met in the 1975 edition of the final, with the Munster side emerging victorious in that game.
