Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's true colours clear to see in message to Wrexham star

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have shown their class by rallying behind a Wrexham player who has suffered a devastating injury.
Andy Cannon is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after the League One club revealed he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The midfielder had to be given oxygen and was stretchered off after appearing to get his studs caught in the turf during the first half of Wrexham's 2-1 win at Mansfield Town last weekend.
The Red Dragons confirmed the full extent of his injury on Tuesday night after a scan was carried out. The 28-year-old has since met with a specialist and will undergo surgery next week, but it could be some time before he is back on the pitch.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said: "Our thoughts are with Andy at this time. Rest assured, we'll get him the best possible treatment and he'll come back better than ever."
Cannon shared a post on Instagram thanking the club's Hollywood owners for their backing after the news was shared. He said: "Not the end to the season I envisaged, but sadly, I have ruptured my ACL and will undergo surgery next week.
"I have been overwhelmed by the care and support I have received from family, friends, all the staff at @wrexham_afc the owners @vancityreynolds @robmcelhenney my teammates, all our medical team and of course, our incredible fans.

"My recovery will take time and patience but I'm determined to come back even stronger. I'll be cheering on the lads and wishing for a successful end to the season and I'll see you all at the STōK Cae Ras soon."
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator McElhenney replied by posting: "Rooting for you always. Here's to a speedy recovery" accompanied by a heart emoji. A number of Cannon's team-mates also commented with their best wishes for the former Hull City and Portsmouth player.
Wrexham director Humphrey Ker, who features prominently in the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, voiced his own support. Referencing Cannon's Disney-themed nickname, the actor and comedian wrote: "Big @andy14cannon fans in this house. Get well soon to the Lion King."
Cannon first joined Wrexham in December 2022 and has helped the club to achieve back-to-back promotions from the National League and League Two. He signed a contract extension in August last year, keeping him at the Racecourse until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Cannon has struck up a close bond with several of his team-mates at Wrexham, including former Republic of Ireland international James McClean. The ex-Premier League star shared a message for Cannon on his Instagram stories, saying: "You'll be back before ye know it bud, you got this."
Wrexham are currently third in League One and pushing for an unprecedented third successive promotion.
