Patrick Dorgu shown red for horror tackle as Premier League issue Man Utd verdict

Patrick Dorgu was sent off in Manchester United's game with Ipswich Town on Wednesday night following an intervention from VAR.
The United left-back endured a difficult start to proceedings when his error gifted Jaden Philogene a fourth minute opener.
And things went from bad to worse for the Dane when he was shown a red card by Darren England for a poor tackle on Omari Hutchinson after he caught the Ipswich forward high on the shin with his studs up.
"Red card, all day, every day," said Robbie Savage, who was commentating on the match for TNT Sport. "The more you see it, there's no argument. It's over the top of the ball. It's a straight red card, bad tackle."
The Premier League shed some light on the decision with a post on X, which read: "VAR recommended an on-field review for a possible red card to Dorgu for the challenge on Hutchinson – with the contact deemed serious foul play. Upon review, the referee issued a red card to Dorgu."
Things got even worse for United just minutes after Dorgu was sent off with Philogene grabbing his second goal of the night to make it 2-2 at half-time.
Dorgu's red card meant Ruben Amorim was forced to reshuffle his team, with the unfortunate Alejandro Garnacho making way for Noussair Mazraoui.
TNT Sports pundit Rio Ferdinand gave his verdict on Dorgu's red card at half-time, admitting that Manchester United's £30million new boy was "reckless".
He said: "It is actually a bad touch from Omari Hutchinson in the first place and Patrick Dorgu is quick to challenge but it is reckless. It is a straight leg challenge and I don't think there can be any complaints."
Fortunately for United, Harry Maguire would quickly restore the home side's lead after the break, heading home a Bruno Fernandes corner to make it 3-2 in the 47th minute.
