Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Gyokeres hijack, Mbeumo announcement, Chelsea swap deal

Manchester United have not submitted a bid for Viktor Gyokeres and they have no intention of doing so, according to Ben Jacobs.

Reports in Portugal stated that United were 'very close' to striking an agreement with Sporting which risked scuppering Arsenal's move for Gyokeres.

Ruben Amorim worked with the Swede at Sporting and United are expected to try and sign a centre-forward this summer.

But rumours of a Gyokeres hijack have now been played down, and the 27-year-old is believed to favour a move to the Emirates in any case.

Alejandro Garnacho has looked into what it might be like working under Unai Emery at Aston Villa, according to TBR Football.

Garnacho posted a picture of him wearing a Villa shirt on social media last month, and the Birmingham outfit are one of the teams interested in signing him.

Chelsea and Tottenham have also been linked as the Argentina international looks for a move that would end his Man Utd woes but keep him in the Premier League.

Garnacho has reportedly 'heard good things' after 'doing his homework' on Emery.

Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand is curious about what could have led to Marcus Rashford seeking a move away from Old Trafford.

Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa and he is on the verge of completing a temporary switch to Barcelona, who will have the option to buy him at the end of the campaign.

Manchester United's interest in Nicolas Jackson could open up a swap deal opportunity involving Alejandro Garnacho.

BBC Sport claim that United have held talks with Jackson's representatives and a move 'could happen in the right circumstances'.

Chelsea hold a long-standing interest in Garnacho, who has been training separately from Ruben Amorim's main squad after being told he is free to leave.

Talks between the two clubs could therefore centre around Jackson and Garnacho trading places.

Manchester United are expected to announce the signing of Bryan Mbeumo today, according to ESPN.

The Cameroon forward has already completed his medical and agreed on personal terms after United and Brentford thrashed out a total package worth £71million.

Ruben Amorim wants Mbeumo on the plane for United's pre-season tour of the USA.

And, given they jet out on Tuesday, time is of the essence as they look to sign and seal Mbeumo's switch to Old Trafford.
