Harte one of six BBC NI football pundits to tip Donegal over Kerry
Three-time All-Ireland winning manager Mickey Harte believes Donegal can get over the line against Kerry tomorrow at Croke Park and secure a first Sam Maguire Cup success in 13 years.
Jim McGuinness’s side are rated as slight underdogs for the showdown with the Kingdom at headquarters where the latter will line-out in their third All-Ireland decider in four years come 3.30pm tomorrow.
Speaking to BBC Sport NI on his prediction for the big game, Harte was one of six pundits to pick the Tir Chonaill men over the Munster champions by saying: "I think it is a final many people expected at the start of the year. You look at their semi-final performances, they will be very pleased on both counts.
"The question is can Donegal collectively negate the full effect of David Clifford, if they manage to do that, I think they can deal with their other threats with the numbers that they have.
"The big thing about Donegal is their counter attack is the best in the country, they come with numbers and quality, and they have so many different finishers. I will tip Donegal to come out on top."
Harte’s fellow Tyrone man Owen Mulligan, 2002 All-Ireland winner Oisin McConville, Donegal legend Brendan Devenney, Dublin’s eight-time All-Ireland winner Philly McMahon and former Monaghan ace Conor McManus all also leaned towards a victory for the Ulster champions tomorrow in the capital when giving in their own verdicts.
