The F2 race has been brought to a conclusion with five minutes left on the clock.

Two more crashes after the restart brought out the red flag and there was no time remaining to complete the race.

A horrifying 12-car pile-up halted the Formula Two feature race.

Victor Martins and Alex Dunne collided at Turn 1, with the cars behind them getting caught in the accident.

Everyone appeared to be safe and the debris was quickly cleared.

The race restarted with only 11 vehicles behind the safety car.

Lewis Hamilton bemoaned an error by his team after losing three grid places in Monaco.

After finishing qualifying in P4, stewards handed Hamilton a three-place penalty for impeding Max Verstappen.

The Ferrari star had been told by his team that his rival was on a slow lap.

“I don't know if there was some sort of issue with the computer screen. It said that Max was on the lap, and then it disappeared and said it wasn’t,” he explained.

“They told me he was on a lap, so I moved to the side… then they realised he wasn't on the lap, so they told me and I started to accelerate. I stayed fully to the left. And I wasn't on the racing line, but of course it was distracting for Max.”

Charles Leclerc was furious after being pipped to pole position by Lando Norris.

Shouting over the team radio, Leclerc erupted: "No!"

An expletive-laden rant about being caught in traffic on one of his earlier laps followed.

Attempting to defend his home race, Leclerc had finished quickest in each practice session.

His team-mate, Lewis Hamilton, endured a tougher day.

Hamilton spun out of FP3 before receiving a three-place grid penalty for impeding Max Verstappen during qualifying.

A potential row is brewing at Red Bull over instructions given to Yuki Tsunoda.

The Japanese star hinted that there could be talks after he accused bosses of being "so unfair" during qualifying.

Tsunoda appeared to be unhappy over being asked to let team-mate Max Verstappen in Q2. After dropping out at the end of the session, he said over the team radio:

“It’s so unfair, honestly. I knew that was going to happen like this. I knew it, but…”

Speaking to F1 afterwards, Tsunoda said: “It’s not just the last push, it’s just [the] start of Q2. But it’s okay. I know what’s happened and I don’t have to talk here.”

Asked whether he would discuss the matter further with the team, Tsunoda replied: “Let’s see.”

Max Verstappen is unhappy with Ferrari over the qualifying incident that saw Lewis Hamilton punished.

Hamilton was incorrectly informed that Verstappen was on a slow lap behind him, before quickly learning that his rival was in fact driving fast.

Having qualified in fourth, the 40-year-old was forced to accept a four-place grid penalty over the near-collision.

The duo were seen exchanging words after the session, but Verstappen insisted:

“At the time, you see the car blocking you and when you are there at high speed, it’s not nice,” Verstappen told Sky Sports.

“I saw the team told him I was driving slow when I was clearly driving fast, so it’s not Lewis’ fault. I quickly chatted to Lewis about it. It’s very simple but it can’t happen. But that’s the team’s mistake.”

Asked if he expected a punishment for Hamilton - who at that point had not been sanctioned by the stewards - Verstappen responded: “If you look at the history of things, yes. But it’s more the team’s fault. But normally in qualifying they are quite strict on these things.”
