Eddie Hearn caught on camera shoving rival promoter after egg slap

Eddie Hearn shoved rival boxing promoter Ben Shalom during the fiery face off between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.
Both Eubank Jr and Benn went face-to-face last night in Manchester ahead of their mouthwatering middleweight showdown on April 26 in London. The former sparked chaos after he slapped an egg into his bitter rival's face. The pair were immediately separated as Benn attempted to get to his upcoming opponent after the incident in Manchester.
However, the drama didn't stop there, though. Both Hearn and Shalom were both on stage as the pair tried their best to de-escalate the situation. Security guards were able to calm things down, grabbing both boxers - with Benn needing three people to hold him back from attacking Eubank Jr.
Following the heated face off, video began circulating on social media appearing to show Hearn giving Shalom a shove amongst the shocking scenes. The two promoters were then immediately involved in a slightly intense exchange after the press conference.
Speaking to BOXRAW, reacting to what happened during the face off, Hearn said: "We are on good terms. I believe he (Shalom) didn't know about it (the egg)," before Shalom quickly chimed in, replying: "You know I didn't know about it." The Matchroom boss then clapped back: "No I didn't because you're a little snake."
Hearn's comments then sparked yet another reaction from Shalom, who said: "You know I didn't know about it, don't talk, don't talk s***. You can't say things (like that)." A growingly frustrated Hearn then said: "I've been very nice to you lately, I've given you a big education these past few weeks. I've told you, you're very lucky to be talking to me."
The Matchroom chairman then revealed Shalom asked him to go on the board of his promotional company Boxxer before the latter insisted it was joke. "But the reality of it is, it's camp v camp," Hearn said. "So I don't have any emotion towards this man. I just think it (the egging) was a b**** move."
Shalom maintained his innocence and claimed he spent over two weeks trying to get an idea of what his star client, Eubank Jr, would say at the press conference. "He wouldn't tell me, he wouldn't tell his girlfriend, he wouldn't tell his best friend," Shalom said. We know why now." Hearn replied: "You've got to have a closer relationship with your fighters. I'm a bit worried about you. He was the only man who knew about the egg. How did he smuggle it in? It was unbelievable. Next time I go up to him, I'm going to go, 'Alright Chris', and just try and pat the egg in there."
The whole egg incident was in reference to Benn claiming his failed drug test in 2022 was as a result of him eating too many. Benn and Eubank Jr were immediately separated as the former attempted to get to his opponent after the incident in Manchester. Benn later took to social media to say: "That’s the only shot you’ll land on me you f****** p****. Two rounds you are finished."
