Chelsea drop Nicolas Jackson price tag considerably following transfer demand

Chelsea are ready to accept around £50million after Nicolas Jackson told the club he wanted leave Stamford Bridge after two seasons at the Blues.
Jackson has led the line for the club and been their first choice No 9 since joining from Villarreal but has seen two new strikers arrive this summer. Enzo Maresca now has Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to pick from with the duo costing just shy of £100m.
Both played their roles as Chelsea claimed the Club World Cup and throughout the summer it has become evident that Jackson has fallen out of favour. He was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday after it was agreed he could seek pastures new.
It was understood that the west Londoners wanted around £80m before they let their striker leave, but that stance has since cooled. The Times now reports they would want a similar figure to the one they receive for Noni Madueke - which was £52m.
It is a notable drop on their original price tag with the likes of Newcastle and Manchester United both circling for the Senegal international. He has scored 30 times across his two seasons with Chelsea.

Despite that Jackson was handed a contract extension with Chelsea last September which runs until 2033.He was sent off in Chelsea’s Club World Cup group-stage match against Flamengo and has not played for the club since.
Maresca was non-committal when quizzed on Jackson's future only this week, which further flamed suggestions he was no longer a key figure under the Italian.

He said: "When the transfer window is open, unfortunately or fortunately, anything can happen. This also involves Nico's situation. At the moment we also had two strikers arrive, Joao [Pedro] and Liam [Delap]. So we will see what happens."
Chelsea are currently looking to add Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig and Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho - it remains to be seen if they will end up landing both. Jackson's future may fund those moves but it could also be dependant on Newcastle's next move. They want a new striker and look to have missed out on Benjamin Sesko and are now weighing up their options.
