Bruno Fernandes hints he and his Man United team-mates have doubts over Ruben Amorim's style after their 3-2 win over Ipswich

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes appeared to question Ruben Amorim's style of play after his side's 3-2 win over Ipswich on Wednesday, admitting that 'in moments it's not working'.
The Red Devils were forced to dig deep on the night after being reduced to 10 men, with Patrick Dorgu shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Omari Hutchinson shortly before half-time.
The evening started as dismally as it ended for Dorgu, who signed for Manchester United during the January transfer window, given that his calamitous mix-up with goalkeeper Andre Onana gifted Ipswich the lead inside four minutes at Old Trafford.
Although United staged a first-half turnaround — initially equalising through Sam Morsy's own goal before taking the lead thanks to Matthijs de Ligt's close-range strike — they found themselves level at the break after Jaden Philogene scored his second in the wake of Dorgu's reckless red card.
Harry Maguire restored United's lead shortly after half-time with superb header from a set-piece, assisted by Fernandes, before inspiring his defence to hold on to the advantage and edge out the five-goal thriller.
Reflecting on the result, which took United up to 14th in the table with only their ninth win of the season, Fernandes appeared to suggest that at times he and his team-mates have been questioning Amorim's style of play.

Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in November and has struggled for results since arriving at Old Trafford, has urged persistently that he will continue to coach United under the same principles, backing his preferred style of play in the long-term regardless of whether it is reaping short-term rewards on the pitch.
Speaking to TNT Sport after the match, Fernandes said: 'Me and H (Maguire) have been here for a while already, so we know we have to stick with what we've been training, what we've been trying to do, what we're supposed to do.
'You could feel in moments it's not working but for some reason the manager wants us to do that.
'If he wants us to do that, they (the opposition) watches us for many games and prepare themselves.
'We have a big staff, not just his ones but the ones that are already here. We have great people behind the team to try to work on that so if they do that in the right way, we just have to come on the pitch and show it.'
Admitting that his team — who have lost 12 of their 27 matches so far this season in the Premier League — are 'suffering', Fernandes went on to reveal what he thinks Manchester United are missing on the football pitch.
He continued: 'The moment is what it is. We've been suffering, we know that. We've not been at our best. And as H said today (it's positive) when you're not playing your best football and concede a goal early but still get back into the game.
'We scored from two set-pieces and were in complete control of the game, playing between the lines, finding the spaces.

Although happy with the victory, Fernandes claimed that United are lacking 'aggressiveness'

'I still think we're missing that little bit of aggressiveness going forward, when we beat the opposition between the lines and we turn we need to be more aggressive, but we're going to get that with time. Players are getting more confident so hopefully in the next games, we will score more and more.'
Pleased to register a rare win at home, Maguire urged that his United side must improve their form at Old Trafford first and foremost.
'Obviously really important (to win), we've found ourselves in a difficult position this year and coming in we knew it would be a big game for us. We have to change our home form around,' the England centre-back said.
'We obviously gift them a goal, a poor mistake on our behalf, but then we took control of the game. I felt as though we played really well, some of our best football of the season, especially in that first half. So to lose a man again, I think that's three in our last two months or so, we made it difficult.
'We knew the second half would be difficult and obviously we scored from a set play which was really important in the end.'
