Arsenal add four players to transfer wishlist as Mikel Arteta hatches masterplan

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta isn't done adding to his squad just yet. The Gunners are set to clear space for a new defender by offloading Jakub Kiwior and a replacement for the Polish international isn't the only target for the London side.
Kiwior, who joined the Gunners from Spezia in 2023, has been in high demand this summer. Crystal Palace have explored a move, and there has been interest from Italian clubs, but Porto appear to have the upper hand with Arsenal due to turn a small profit.
Arsenal have maintained they didn't need to sell in order to complete a move for Piero Hincapie, the man who will essentially take Kiwior's place as an option at left centre-back and left-back. And now it has emerged that the Gunners have been monitoring four other youngsters with a view to separate moves.
According to The Mail, two of those players are defenders and two are midfielders. And one of them has already moved this summer but could be a longer-term prospect.
At the back, Jon Martin and Arnau Martinez are the players on the radar. Girona right-back Martinez has other Premier League admirers, while fellow Spaniard Martin, 19, started to make his mark at Real Sociedad last term.

The 21-year-old has already played Champions League football for Red Bull Salzburg but made a switch to Ajax this summer.
Caleb Yirenkyi, 19, is another player who has been followed by Arsenal's recruitment team. The teenager won his first senior Ghana caps this year, and has come through the same Right to Dream academy which counts the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Simon Adingra among its alumni.

Arsenal have already been busy this summer, with Eberechi Eze the latest new arrival. England star Eze could make his debut against Liverpool this weekend, and Arteta spoke about the £68m man's arrival after Saturday's victory over Leeds.
"You could feel it in the last 24 hours that something was happening and our supporters and the way they reacted and what he brought immediately is something special," Arteta told Sky Sports.
"We signed a player with an enormous talent and a massive impact in this league and on top of that a player that has massive feelings for this football club - he has made it very clear, his family have made it very clear, you can sense that. I missed it [the unveiling] but I just spoke to him and he had a massive smile on his face, so welcome to the family."
