Arne Slot discovers his biggest Liverpool achievement so far after replacing Jurgen Klopp

Exclusive:
Arne Slot's biggest masterstroke since replacing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool has been to avoid overhauling the team, according to Glenn Hoddle.
The Dutchman has wowed fans with his impressive style of play at Anfield after being handed the tough task of succeeding Klopp, who won the Premier League and Champions League during his eight years in charge.
But Slot looks likely to end his first season with the Premier League title in his hands after seeing his side enjoy a healthy lead over nearest challengers Arsenal after their impressive 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday.
The former Feyenoord boss has hardly brought in any new signings since his arrival, with Federico Chiesa the only new face so far, and he has instead focused on improving his existing players in the squad.
Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister are two players whose form has skyrocketed since being paired in midfield, while Mohamed Salah is having arguably the best season of his career on the right wing.
Hoddle believes that for all Slot's praise over his tactical set up, his biggest strength has been in resisting the urge to chop and change - as he hailed him for making the team "controlled and calm" ahead of the Reds' next clash against Newcastle this week.
"What he's done at Liverpool is a marvellous job," TNT Sports pundit Hoddle told Mirror Football. "But even better than the job he's done, his ego didn't take over and say, "I need to bring one or two of my players in". He said, "This is a sensational squad and if I just tweak it to the style I want to play".
"He knew what he wanted and knew what he had in front of him. He's not touched it and it didn't need touching. That was a great bit of managing and that was managing himself. He looked at it and thought, "How can I improve this?"
"He's left it and made Liverpool more controlled, more calm. You've got to give him immense credit and I take off my hat to him."
Slot was set to serve a touchline ban in the last few games after being sent off following Liverpool's 2-2 draw at Everton earlier this month but a decision has still not been made on his official punishment after being charged by the FA.
While it was a low moment for the 46-year-old, he swiftly apologised and said he would learn to control his emotions - a response that was hailed as "class" by Hoddle.
"How he dealt with the Everton situation when he got sent off was class too," he added. "He's come out and said I was totally wrong, I should have had a cup of tea.
"I've been in that situation - it's murder if you feel you've had an injustice against you, your emotions are flying. He was honest enough to say he was out of order and he'll learn from his mistakes. That's good advice from my experience."
