5 potential replacements for Andre Onana as Ruben Amorim 'drops' calamity Man Utd keeper

Ruben Amorim is reportedly considering axing Andre Onana for Manchester United's trip to Newcastle on Sunday following the goalkeeper's high-profile blunders against Lyon in the Europa League.
United drew 2-2 with Lyon in the first leg of their quarter-final clash, with Onana at fault for both of the goals. Onana first failed to stop a long-range free-kick from Thiago Almada, before parrying an effort from Georges Mikautadze straight into the path of Rayan Cherki as Lyon netted a late equaliser.
Amorim publicly supported Onana after the game, telling TNT Sports: "[It is] important to focus on the next game for the league and then think about the second leg against Lyon. When one player has a mistake, all the team has a mistake, so we continue like that."
However, the Daily Mail are now reporting that Amorim is considering starting back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir ahead of Onana when United face Newcastle this weekend. If Amorim does decide to drop Onana then it will raise questions about his long-term future at Old Trafford.
And with that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at five potential replacements for Onana...

The 22-year-old has impressed in Belgium and is attracting interest from a number of Premier League sides.
Lammens is said to be valued at around £30million by Antwerp and was recently handed his first international call-up, deputising for Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois and Nottingham Forest's Matz Sels as Belgium beat Ukraine 6-1 on aggregate in the UEFA Nations League.

Lille star Chevalier is also said to be on United's radar, having impressed since usurping Leo Jardim to become the Ligue 1 side's first-choice goalkeeper in 2022. Chevalier has racked up more than 100 appearances for Lille, including 10 in the Champions League this season.
The 23-year-old is also being eyed by the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle and is reportedly valued at around £40m by Lille, who have made big money in recent years selling the likes of Leny Yoro, Sven Botman, Carlos Baleba and Leny Yoro to English clubs.

The Burnley goalkeeper is enjoying an excellent Championship campaign this season, having kept a remarkable 28 clean sheets in 41 games so far and his performances for Scott Parker's side have reportedly made him a target for United.
Newcastle have also long been linked with the 22-year-old, while Burnley will be desperate to keep hold of him if they seal promotion back to the Premier League as expected. Trafford is reportedly valued at around £30m.

Having now cemented himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for both Brighton and the Netherlands, United have been linked with a £30m swoop for Verbruggen. The 22-year-old is said to be high on United's list of potential replacements for Onana.
Verbruggen has more than three years left on his contract and United could face competition for his services from German giants Bayern Munich, who reportedly view him as a potential long-term replacement for veteran stopper Manuel Neuer.

Although Leicester are on the verge of being relegated back to the Championship after picking up just one win from their last 17 league games, Hermansen has been a rare bright spot for the Foxes.
According to the Telegraph, United recently sent chief goalkeeping scout Tony Coton to watch him in action and the Foxes are said to be ready to cash in on Hermansen amid concerns over their financial situation.
