Former Cork star Daniel Goulding this weekend’s trip to Croke Park is the best draw the Rebels could’ve gotten in the All-Ireland SFC preliminary quarter-finals.

After edging out Roscommon by two points last weekend, John Cleary’s men put their name in the hat for Monday morning’s draw and picked out the Dubs who they will face at headquarters tomorrow evening (6.15pm) in a bid to reach the last eight in the Sam Maguire Cup race.

Speaking to EchoLive.ie this week, 2010 All-Ireland winner Goulding feels it’s a game in which Cork have a great chance of tearing up the script in.

“It’s probably the best draw for Cork to be honest,” said the former Leesiders attacker.

“Going up to play Donegal in Ballybofey would have been a very big challenge and if we were away to Down, there would have been an expectation to win which isn’t correct either as Down are very good.

“A game in Croke Park is a great draw for Cork and one they should relish. They are going to be rank outsiders but it gives them an opportunity to take a big scalp.

“We have seen over the last few years, Cork seem to up their performance for the bigger teams. You would be hoping a big performance will be coming again on Saturday.”
