Volkan Demirel's claim about Kerem: 'It won't happen...'

Fenerbahçe's legendary manager and commentator Volkan Demirel made statements regarding Kerem Aktürkoğlu's transfer to Fenerbahçe.

The experienced coach made striking statements regarding the national football player's transfer to Fenerbahçe.

Volkan Demirel claimed in a statement to Now that Kerem Aktürkoğlu wouldn't be successful at Fenerbahçe. Demirel, noting that Mourinho's departure would create transfer controversy, said, "Since the first day, when Kerem's issue started, I've been trying to explain something, to say something, and I get angry. I have nothing against Kerem's footballing ability, but I don't think he'll be at Fenerbahçe. There's always a problem. And he was the player Mourinho wanted, and Mourinho left. If only he hadn't left then. There are always contradictions."

'IT'S HARMING THE CLUBS'

Volkan Demirel, also addressing the events surrounding the transfer process, said, "I can't make sense of it and I'm upset. Hearing this conversation, the transfer being dragged on and delayed... This team was eliminated from the Champions League, and €30 million was spent. If Kerem had joined, would this team have won the match? He was valued because he scored the goal, and we should congratulate him. He played like a lion against the team he was going to be transferred to."

"Bringing these kinds of things to the forefront harms clubs. People say, 'We gave moral lessons, we did this, we did that.' Fenerbahçe makes an offer, Galatasaray has a five-day deadline, etc. There's no need for these things; they're harming communities," he said.
