Torches rained down from Fenerbahçe stands onto the pitch

In the second half of the match in which Galatasaray hosted Fenerbahçe in the 25th week of the Super League, controversial images emerged.

Before the match, thousands of police took intensive precautions and Fenerbahçe fans lighting torches became a hot topic.

While the second half of the match was being played, the yellow-navy fans lit torches one after another. The yellow-navy fans threw some of the torches towards the section where the red-yellow stands were located.

The Slovenian referee stopped the game for a while because of the flares raining down on the Galatasaray fans from the away stands.

While the incident left its mark on social media, it is not yet known how the torches were smuggled in.
