Solskjaer's transfer statement

Solskjaer's transfer statement

Beşiktaş Technical Director Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a statement to TRT Spor.

The Norwegian manager, noting that they are preparing for their UEFA Europa League qualifying round match against Shakhtar Donetsk, said, "We have hope and belief this year. When I look at the players, I can see the fire in their eyes."

Referring back to the process of signing for Beşiktaş, Solskjaer said, "I've never been upset when I've received offers from other teams in my career and they haven't. After receiving offers from Beşiktaş twice, I kept following them, thinking, 'What would it be like if I did?' Finally, my turn at Beşiktaş has come."

Speaking about the midfield rotation, Solskjaer said:

"Demir Ege reminds me of Busquets. Orkun is like Pirlo, like Scholes. Kartal is like Orkun, more like Scholes. They all have qualities to add to the team. They're very young players. Orkun also resembles Roy Keane. The passion, the fire in his eyes... We'll help all three of these players become winners. We need to help the midfielders. Let their careers be like Roy Keane's."

The 52-year-old experienced manager, also assessing Beşiktaş's transfer policy this summer, said, "As the transfer window begins to close, we will look at which areas we need more clearly. Because we have a lot of players we need to get out."
