Samet Gümüş advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Championship

Four national athletes entered the ring in the evening session of the World Championship held at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

In the men's 50-kilogram (160-pound) category, Samet Gümüş faced Azerbaijan's Subhan Mamedov in the round of 16. Samet played a dominant game, especially in the final round, defeating his opponent 3-1 and advancing to the quarterfinals.

3 NATIONAL BOXERS SAID GOODBYE TO THE TOURNAMENT

In the round of 16, Ayşe Çağırır lost to Altantsetseg Lutsaikhan from Mongolia in the women's 48 kg category; Sema Çalışkan lost to Natalya Bogdanova from Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals in the 70 kg category; and Samet Ersoy lost to Semion Boldirev from Bulgaria in the men's 85 kg category.

7 NATIONAL ATHLETES WILL STEPP IN THE RING IN THE QUARTER FINAL

On the seventh day of the World Championship, 7 national boxers will enter the ring.

In the afternoon session, which will start at 14:00 Turkish time, Hatice Akbaş, Büşra Işıldar and Şeyma Düztaş in the women's category and Emrah Yaşar in the men's category will compete in the quarterfinals.

In the evening session, which will start at 20:00 Turkish time, Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, Busenaz Sürmeneli and Elif Güneri will compete in the women's semi-finals.
