The 8th week of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifications continued with 8 matches.

In the qualifiers, 8 matches were played in groups A, B, D and J.

Iceland drew 2-2 with France at home in Group D, their first point drop in the group. Victor Palsson scored for the hosts in the 39th minute and Kristian Nökkvi Hlynsson in the 70th minute, while Christopher Nkunku and Jean-Philippe Mateta scored for group leaders France in the 63rd minute and 68th minute, respectively.

After the match, France manager Didier Deschamps made a statement after the match, saying, "The Icelanders took two shots and scored two goals. What drives me crazy is that we were caught too far ahead in defense in the second goal we conceded."

In Group A, Germany defeated Northern Ireland 1-0 away with a goal from Nick Woltemade in the 31st minute.
