10 people detained at the Suruç commemoration were released

Ten of the protesters detained during a police intervention at a march commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Suruç Massacre in Ankara were released on probation by the court to which they were referred. The protesters were also banned from leaving the country.
Police intervened in a march organized by youth organizations to commemorate the 33 people who lost their lives in an ISIS attack in the Suruç district of Şanlıurfa in 2015, and 40 protesters were detained. Twenty-two of those detained were released after processing at the police station.
The remaining 18 protesters were referred to court today. Ten of these protesters were brought to court with a request for arrest and four for judicial control. Four were released after giving their statements to the prosecutor's office. The court released the remaining 10 protesters, who were referred to court with a request for arrest, on the condition of judicial control.
