Vasco da Gama is interested in defender Carlos Cuesta, 26, who plays for Galatasaray in Turkey.

The negotiation is being led by the Portuguese Admar Lopes, football executive of the Cruzmaltino, who is trying to sign the athlete, on loan, but with the obligation to buy, linked to goals to be achieved.

Carlos Cuesta, a Colombian national team player, was the Libertadores champion with Atlético Nacional in 2016 and arrived at Galatasaray in February of this year, after being bought from Genk, Belgium, for eight million euros, approximately 50 million reais.

For the Turkish club, the athlete won two titles, the cup and the national league of the 2024/2025 season.

Previously, Vasco had already decided that the arrival of a defender would be the priority, after signing a striker.

With the agreement between Cruzmaltino and Andrés Gómez, from Rennes, the board of directors of Gigante da Colina must invest in the Galatasaray player.

Carlos Cuesta was a starter during the Colombian national team's campaign that ended in runner-up position in the 2024 Copa América.
