U-21 World Cup: Türkiye dominated by Poland

One of the favorites for the podium at the Women's Under-21 Volleyball World Championship, Turkey suffered its first defeat this Friday (8/8), in Surabaya, Indonesia. 3 sets to 0 for Poland, partial scores of 25-19, 26-24 and 25-21.
The match was part of the second round of Group C. Italy and Poland lead the way with six points, with Turkey now in third with three. Egypt, the Czech Republic, and Algeria are the other teams in the group.
It was clear from the start of the match that Turkey was missing setter Dilay Ozdemir. The youngster earned a spot on the senior national team in the UEFA Nations League (VNL) and is training with the squad for the senior World Cup.
The attack was the most uneven aspect of the match. The Polish team scored 54 points compared to just 33 for the Turks. Turkey also committed 11 more errors.
In scoring, Aleksandra Adamczyk and Julia Hewelt lead Poland with 20 and 18 points, respectively. In Turkey, Lisa Safronova, Ana Cristina's teammate at Fenerbahce, led the team with 11 points.
