This Sunday (11), São Paulo faced Palmeiras in another chapter of the Choque-Rei classic, valid for the 8th round of the Brazilian Championship. The game, held at Arena Barueri, was marked by the balance between the two teams, but ended with a painful defeat for Tricolor: 1-0, with a goal from Palmeiras in the second half's injury time.

São Paulo adopted a more defensive stance for most of the match, making it difficult for their rivals to attack. The team led by Luis Zubeldía organized themselves well tactically, but were unable to hold on to the result until the final whistle. The goal, scored in the final moments, exposed the frustration of a team that, despite its efforts, returned home without scoring.

Defender Ruan, who started the match, lamented the outcome and spoke about the team's performance after the final whistle.

- We knew how difficult it would be to play the derby here on the pitch. We played a good game, defended well and conceded a goal at the end. We're going to work hard to get back to getting three points, which is important - said the defender.

With this result, São Paulo has yet another setback in the Brasileirão and is seeing its distance to the top of the table increase. The team is still inconsistent on the field and has not yet put together a winning streak in the championship. Ruan, however, believes that the team has the capacity to react and grow in the competition. He also commented on the difference between the points-based marathon and the knockout tournaments, such as the Libertadores.

- Every game is different, we work every day and unfortunately the results haven't come. If we continue like this, we will improve in the championship and we will start adding again", added the defender - confident of a recovery.

São Paulo's next match in the Brasileirão will be against Grémio, at Morumbi, on Saturday (17), at 9:00 pm, where the team will try to get back to winning ways at home. Palmeiras, on the other hand, buoyed by the victory in the classic, remains firm in the fight for the lead in the championship and now faces Bragantino away from home.
