Rodrigo Pinho wins national title in Montemor-o-Velho

Last weekend, the Montemor-o-Velho track was the stage for the National Youth Rowing Championship, a competition that brought together athletes from the junior, children and beginner categories in races over distances of 500 and 1,000 metres. The Colectividade Popular de Cacia participated with nine young rowers, seeing two crews climb to the podium. The highlight goes, first and foremost, to Rodrigo Pinho, who was crowned national champion by winning the 500-metre men's under-13 skiff race, which he dominated from start to finish, crossing the finish line with an 11-second advantage over Simão Barreto, from Clube Fluvial Vilacondense, and 17 seconds over Santiago Azevedo, from Associação Académica de Coimbra, who came second and third.
The under/15 women's quadriscull team from the Caciense club, made up of Matilde Ladeira, Kyara Monteiro, Iara Valente and Carolina Lopes, came in third place and climbed onto the podium with the crews of Viana Remadores do Lima, who won the 1,000 meter race, and Clube Naval Infante D. Henrique, who came in second place.
