On Thursday night, the 15th, Palmeiras beat Bolívar by a score of 2-0 at Allianz Parque in the 5th round of the group stage of the 2025 CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup and continues with a 100% success rate in the continental competition. The Brazilian team's goals were scored by defender Murilo and forward Facundo Torres.

The home team started by pressing and had no trouble opening up a comfortable lead on the scoreboard. Just six minutes into the match, defender Murilo received a great assist from Piquerez on the left and headed the ball firmly to put Verdão ahead. Five minutes later, Alviverde scored again, this time with Facundo Torres.

At one point, the visitors tried to take advantage of the fact that Verdão slowed down and managed to create some opportunities. However, only one required any danger to the goal defended by goalkeeper Weverton.

In the second half, Verdão regained the intensity of the beginning of the match and had great chances to increase the advantage in the first minutes. In one of them, goalkeeper Cordano made a good save and prevented the third goal. In another chance, Facundo Torres scored what would have been his second goal of the game in the 16th minute, but it was disallowed for offside.

As the match was heading into the final minutes, the Bolivians went in search of a comeback after Palmeiras once again slowed down. They showed more incisiveness than in the first half and managed to reduce the deficit in the 29th minute with Dorny Romero. However, the assistant referee ruled the play invalid due to Bruno Sávio being offside at the start of the play.

Palmeiras will be back in action next Sunday, the 18th, when they will travel to Bragança Paulista to visit Red Bull Bragantino at the Cícero de Souza Marques stadium, in a direct clash for the lead in the Brazilian Championship. The ball will start rolling at 6:30 pm (Brasília time).

In the last round of the Libertadores group stage, Alviverde will face Sporting Cristal on May 28, at Allianz Parque.
