Neymar is charged by organized groups after arguing with fans: 'It diminishes you and Santos'

Even after Neymar's public apology, the Santos Youth Fans' Club publicly protested on Friday night, accusing the striker of arguing with a fan after the defeat to Internacional on Wednesday at Vila Belmiro, in a Brasileirão match.

In a demanding tone, the organized group argued that the attitude is already recurrent, citing an episode against Mirassol fans, in the recent defeat, also in the Brasileirão.

"Your reaction wasn't in the heat of the moment; off-field action is a common occurrence. In Limeira, it worked, an Olympic goal, that's a joke. But gesturing to a Mirassol fan, telling them they're small, conceding 3-0 without even seeing the ball, only diminishes you and Santos," reads an excerpt from the text.

The statement also exonerated the fan who insulted Neymar. Identified as Alex, the Santos fan took to social media to apologize. The club also criticized Neymar's apology, seeing it as a way to "justify erratic behavior."

"The only time the word 'sorry' appears in your text is to justify erratic behavior, and that doesn't sound worthy of who and what you represent. Especially after the other party came home in the middle of the night, made a video apology, and probably went to work today blaming themselves for what they did, or how they did it," writes the organization.

The 2-1 defeat leaves Santos in the relegation zone. The team is 17th with 14 points, the same as Vasco, the first team outside the relegation zone and with a better goal difference. In the next round, Santos faces a desperate clash against Sport in Recife on Saturday at 6:30 pm.
