Santos lost the derby to Corinthians in the Brasileirão, but Neymar was able to celebrate the title of Fúria , the club of which he is president, in the Kings League . The team drew 5-5 with Dendele and won in the shoot-out decision, in front of a crowd of 40,027 people present at Allianz Parque.

Neymar's absence in the defeat to Corinthians, at Neo Química Arena, added to the player's presence at the Kings League event, drew criticism from fans on social media.

"A feeling of great happiness. You can follow these boys from the beginning, they are dreamers. They dreamed of being football players. They trained a lot. Happy and proud," declared Neymar after the title.

"A very difficult Kings League. The teams played great games, but I think we managed to stand out in all aspects, which is why we are the champion team," concluded the Santos player.

"Social media will probably criticize him, because he was here and Santos lost to Corinthians. But, (here) everyone cried. He was emotional too, because he wanted to be playing and came here. It made all the difference that he was here for the team's talk," said Cris Guedes, Neymar's "buddy" and also president of Fúria.

Dendele started the final winning, suffered an equalizer and came back in front. La Fúria, however, ended the first half with a 3-2 comeback.

In the second half, Paulinho, from Dendele, and Cris Guedes, from Fúria, converted their "presidents' penalties". At this point, Neymar's team was winning 4-3.

In a comeback, Dendele tied the game and turned it around, with the score at 5-4. With three minutes left, La Fúria was awarded a penalty and tied the game. The game had a golden goal dispute period, but it was decided in the shoot-outs, with Neymar's team winning 2-1.

Kings League consolidates its own audience in Brazil in its first tournament

The football sport with "strange rules" has grown in the country with the creation of the Brazilian league. Spain now has men's and women's leagues, which also happens in Mexico. In addition to Brazil, the tournament is expanding to Italy and France.

"Formats that mix sports and entertainment through an interesting mix of athletes, former athletes and celebrities from the world of social networks have proven to attract viewers, engage and succeed. What we saw in boxing is now reaching football, attracting younger people with a shorter format that is primarily designed from the perspective of how to entertain fans," says Ivan Martinho, professor of sports marketing at ESPM.

For Renê Salviano, CEO of Heatmap and specialist in sports marketing, it reiterates digital engagement at the same level as television audience.

"The Kings League Brazil is positioning itself as a true case of sports marketing. Its broadcast via Twitch and YouTube, platforms where interaction with fans happens in real time, represents a paradigm shift in the way we consume sports," he analyzes.

"Brands that understand this dynamic and know how to activate their products within this ecosystem will have a unique opportunity to connect directly with a young, highly engaged audience eager for new experiences," he concludes.

The semi-finalists (Furia, Dendele, Desimpedidos Goti and Fluxo) have qualified for the Kings League World Cup. The tournament will take place in France in June.
