LFU responds to the suspension imposed by CADE: 'It has always acted and will continue to act in accordance with the law'

The Liga Forte União (LFU) reacted to the immediate suspension of its expansion activities, ordered by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), an agency linked to the Ministry of Justice and responsible for preventing economic abuses and monopolies. CADE's ruling also applies to Libra (Brazilian Football League).

"LFU reiterates that it has always acted, and will continue to act, with respect for CADE and in accordance with Brazilian laws."

"LFU will promptly submit the documents requested by CADE," the league announced on its social media.

According to CADE (Brazil's antitrust authority), there is evidence that the entities made agreements and signed contracts without prior authorization from the agency, a practice known as "gun jumping," where clubs and investors close deals before receiving government authorization.

The reporting advisor, Victor Oliveira Fernandes, imposed preventive measures and daily fines of R$ 50,000 for each violation.

Recently, Atlético-MG announced that it has migrated from Libra to LFU, where Botafogo, Corinthians, Ceará, Cruzeiro, Fluminense, Fortaleza, Internacional, Juventude, Mirassol, Sport, Vasco, Atlético-GO, Athletico-PR, Amazonas, América-MG, Avaí, Botafogo-SP, Chapecoense, Coritiba, Criciúma, Cuiabá, CRB, Goiás, Novorizontino, Operário-PR, Vila Nova, CSA, Figueirense, Ituano, Londrina, Náutico, Ponte Preta, and Tombense are also located.

The following teams are in Libra: Bahia, Brusque, Ferroviária, Flamengo, Grêmio, Guarani, Palmeiras, Paysandu, Red Bull Bragantino, Remo, Santos, São Paulo, Vitória, and Volta Redonda.
