Funeral of Diogo Jota and André Silva will take place on Saturday at 10:00 in Gondomar

The funeral of footballers Diogo Jota and André Silva, who died today in Zamora, Spain, victims of a traffic accident, will take place at 10:00 on Saturday, at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar, a source from the City Council revealed to Lusa.

According to the source, at 6:45 pm, it was still unknown when the wake would begin, which will be in the Resurrection chapel, behind the church, since the bodies of the two brothers remained in Zamora awaiting transfer to Portugal.

Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota, 28, and his brother André Silva, 25, died early this morning in a traffic accident on the A52, in Cernadilla, Zamora, Spain.

Diogo Jota was a Liverpool player, having represented the club for five seasons and with whom he won an English League, an FA Cup and two League Cups.

In the Portuguese national team, Diogo Jota won 49 'AA' caps, scoring 14 goals, having won two Nations Leagues, the last of which was last month.

After training at Gondomar and Paços de Ferreira, the forward played for FC Porto for a season, on loan from Atlético de Madrid, and was then loaned by the Spanish club to Wolverhampton, where he spent three seasons.
