Filipe Albuquerque at the 24h of Le Mans with a North American team

Portuguese driver Filipe Albuquerque announced yesterday his participation in this year's edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the most publicized races in world motorsport, which takes place from June 11 to 15.
“I am very happy to be able to return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the main category. In 2014 I was considered the best rookie driver, in 2020 I won the race in the LMP2 category. This year, knowing the limitations of having a car that we are still developing, we would like to be in the discussion for the top places”, said the driver from Coimbra, quoted by his press office.
Filipe Albuquerque will be driving a Cadillac from the North American team Wayne Taylor Racing.
Albuquerque will share the driving duties with his regular teammate, American Ricky Taylor, who has competed in the race several times in the LMP2 category, and with fellow American Jordan Taylor, who has also competed in the race several times, even winning in the LMGTE category.
“Although we are still learning the car, our experience in the race will certainly be an asset. We are very excited about participating. It will not be an easy task, the next few weeks will be tough with a lot of work ahead, but they will help us to be better prepared”, said the driver from Coimbra.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place from June 11 to 15, and on the 13th, Filipe Albuquerque will celebrate his 40th birthday.
“There is no better way to celebrate a special date than competing at Le Mans,” he stressed.
