Elfyn Evans was the strongest in the Figueira da Foz Super Special

Leader of the World Rally Championship and first leader of the 58th Rally of Portugal, Welshman Elfyn Evans (Toyota Gazoo Racing) was the fastest to complete the 2.49km of the Figueira da Foz super special, the first stage of the competition.
With Scott Martin as navigator, Evans, who has not missed a podium in the four world championship races already held, having won in Sweden and Kenya, completed the course in 2:18.1 minutes. In 2nd place, 0.2 seconds behind, was the Estonian duo Ott Tänak / Martin Järveoja (Hyundai I20N Rally1). In 3rd place, also 0.2 seconds behind the Welshman, was the duo Sébastien Ogier / Vincent Landais (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1).
