Electronic bracelet for man detained in Ponte de Sor

A 58-year-old man was arrested by the GNR for domestic, physical and psychological violence against his 52-year-old partner in the municipality of Ponte de Sor, district of Portalegre, it was revealed this Friday.

In a statement, the GNR Portalegre Territorial Command explained that the arrest was made on Wednesday through the Investigation and Support Unit for Specific Victims (NIAVE).

The guard's military personnel, as part of an investigation into domestic violence, carried out police investigations and found that "the suspect was physically and psychologically abusing the victim," and therefore arrested him.

The man was brought before the Ponte de Sor Judicial Court, which ordered several coercive measures against him, including a ban on contacting the victim by any means.

The defendant is also prohibited from approaching the victim's residence or workplace and other places frequented by the victim, within a radius of 500 meters, through control by electronic bracelet.
