Cris Guedes came out in defense of Neymar after the Furia won the Kings League. Santos' number 10 was heavily criticized for attending the event hours after Peixe's defeat to Corinthians on Sunday afternoon, the 18th, at Neo Química Arena, in the Brasileirão.

Speaking to reporters after the match at Allianz Parque, the star's friend showed confidence in his friend's return to the pitch. Recovering from a thigh injury, the midfielder has not played since the victory over Atlético-MG on April 16.

“My thoughts and my vision are that there will be a game on Wednesday or Thursday and his response has always been on the field, he is coming back, God willing he will come back well and will have a sequence of games and will improve every day. We will see Ney in the national team, because the national team needs him too. That's it,” he said.

As Neymar's return to the pitch approaches, Cris stressed that the criticism doesn't affect his friend. Together, they are presidents of Furia, the Kings League champion team.

“I think he never cared much about what people say, we debate a lot about that, his personality, I learn more and more about his personality every day and he will respond on the ball, for sure, he will recover 100%, more and more, so Wednesday or Thursday, I don't know when the game is, we will see him on the field and God willing everything will work out”, he concluded.

Amid criticism, Neymar arrived at Allianz Parque with a new look. Without a mohawk, the star opted for braids and wore a jacket with the message “don't be stupid”.
