Zieliński's clash is full of excitement! The Pole has a new partner.

Jan Zieliński and John Peers made their debuts on the same side of the net. The Polish-Australian pair defeated Indian Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus in a thrilling match, advancing to the second round of the ATP tournament in Toronto.

After playing on clay in Europe, Jan Zieliński began his North American tour. He entered the ATP Masters 1000 in Toronto alongside John Peers, not Adam Pavlasek, as fans had become accustomed to recently. This marks the Pole's third doubles partner this season, having started the season with Belgian Sander Gill.

In the first round of the Canadian tournament, Zieliński and Peers faced Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus. They went almost without a break throughout the first set. This break came at a crucial moment in the competition. The Polish-Australian duo broke serve from the Indian and New Zealander at 5-4, clinching the opening set.

The second set belonged to Bhambri and Venus. They secured a break advantage in the fifth game and then confirmed it on their own serve, pulling ahead 4-2. The Indian-New Zealand duo increased their lead in the ninth game, breaking Zieliński and Peers to take the series to three points.

The match was decided by a super tie-break. This one was incredibly exciting. Zieliński and Peers reached two match points at 9-7, but missed both. Moments later, they had another opportunity (10-9), but Bhambri and Venus once again rallied. The Pole and Australian secured their victory on their fourth attempt. They ultimately prevailed 12-10, advancing to the second round in Toronto.

Zieliński and Peers made a successful debut on either side of the net. A tougher challenge awaits them in their next match, however. They'll face the second-seeded Britons Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool at the National Bank Open. They recently won a Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.
