What news! Mateusz Gamrot will fight Charles Oliveira

The UFC announced that Charles Oliveira will face Mateusz Gamrot at the Rio de Janeiro event on October 12th. The Pole stepped into the card in place of the injured Rafael Fiziev, and their bout was scheduled as the main event of the event.
For Gamrot, this will be one of the biggest fights of his career and a huge step in his UFC journey. Charles Oliveira revealed that the Pole would face him at the event in Rio de Janeiro. "Do Bronx" thus accepted the challenge "Gamer" issued him via social media. A few dozen minutes later, the UFC confirmed that the bout would take place.
In recent days, the Brazilian has openly declared his willingness to fight other top lightweights. Benoit Saint-Denis and Renato Moicano were among the potential opponents. Ultimately, however, Oliveira chose the Pole, opening up the possibility of the biggest victory of Gamrot's career to date.
"He's the one we're going to war with. The rest wanted media hype, they just wanted to talk, but that's part of MMA. Gamrot, thank you for accepting this fight. It's going to be a big war," Oliveira said in a short video posted on social media.

Oliveira is a living UFC legend. The Guarui-born fighter has been fighting in the American organization since 2010. Over the years, he has earned a reputation as one of the best lightweight fighters. He even held the title of lightweight champion in 2021-2022. However, his recent run has been mixed, with victories and defeats interspersed. In his last appearance in June of this year, he lost by first-round knockout to Ilia Topuria.
Gamrot, meanwhile, returned to winning ways on the last day of May of this year after his loss to Dan Hooker. The Kudowa-Zdrój fighter outpointed Ludovit Klein in a three-round bout. A potential fight with Oliveira would be a great opportunity for him. A victory would boost his UFC stock significantly, allowing him to return to title contention.
