Total war in Pogoń Szczecin. Shocking move by the club's new management
Football manager Przemysław Pantak and former Pogoń president Jarosław Mroczek and his wife will not be able to watch the matches of the "Pride of Pomerania" from the stands of the stadium on Twardowskiego Street - the current owner of the club Alex Haditaghi announced on Wednesday via platform X.
"I still intend to come to the Szczecin stadium. I have not broken the stadium regulations, and this is the only circumstance that would allow for issuing a ban. My wife has not broken the regulations either, and on top of that she is a shareholder [of the Pogoń company], so I really don't know how such a ban could be introduced?" - said Mroczek, the former president, in an interview with PAP.
Haditaghi became the owner of Pogoń in mid-March of this year. He bought the club's shares from the British Sports Strategy and Investments Ltd., managed by Nilo Effori. At the introductory press conference, he announced that Mroczek had made great contributions to the club, and therefore he would file a motion to expand the composition of the Supervisory Board of Pogoń by a seat dedicated to the former president. Now, the relations between the two presidents have changed dramatically.
Jarosław Mroczek banned from entering Pogoń Szczecin's boxes?"Two weeks ago I informed Jarek Mroczek that with immediate effect he will no longer represent the club at the Ekstraklasa shareholders' meetings, on the Ekstraklasa Supervisory Board or in any football or business association concerning Pogoń Szczecin. I also informed him that he will not serve on the club's Supervisory Board in the future," Haditaghi wrote on the X platform.
Mroczek denied Haditaghi's words in an interview with PAP, noting that he last spoke to Haditaghi at the Polish Cup final in Warsaw. "I was welcomed very warmly," he emphasized. There were no more phone calls after that. I don't really answer calls from Mr. Alex. He writes to me via Whatsapp," Mroczek explained that this is how he received information that he was not welcome in the stands. However, he assured that he will continue to appear at the Pogoń stadium and its matches. "For Mr. Alex, the place to watch a match is the club box. For obvious reasons, I will not go there," Mroczek emphasized.
"These legal actions against Przemek Pantak and several others are just the beginning. Anyone who stands in the way of building an honest, strong Pogoń Szczecin - or who has treated or exploited the club badly - will be removed. Without exception. Without a second chance. We will not allow this club to ever become what it was before - a club drowning in debts of 68-70 million złoty, controlled or managed by corrupt people devoid of morals," the current owner wrote.
Mroczek announced that he would soon issue a statement in which he would address the allegations made by the Canadian businessman. Despite this, he commented in an interview with PAP: "I cannot say what is going on in the head of Mr. President Haditaghi. It is incomprehensible to me. This is a mess that does not serve Pogoń, and my primary goal has always been for Pogoń to function as well as possible. And that is still my guiding principle. It is difficult to comment on absurd allegations. They are bizarre. For 15 years, when I was in the club, I did not conduct any illegal activities. There is not a shred of truth in them. I cannot conduct discussions in this style and I do not want to. I do not want to use too strong words... Let's leave it at that," concluded Mroczek.
Haditaghi also assured that his lawyers have issued a ban on football agent Przemek Pantak, prohibiting him from entering any Pogoń Szczecin matches, staying on the facilities, pitches, Academy grounds and at any club events, and are also to initiate legal action against the football manager.
Pantak announced in an official statement that he would refer the case against Haditaghi to law enforcement and court. Pantak wrote that the current owner of the club accused him of corruption, parasitism, theft, lying and lack of honesty. "(...) you cannot defame and insult someone with impunity, because these are punishable acts. If someone spits in my face, I will not say that it is raining," Pantak wrote. (PAP)
