Polish women's rivals have a three-hour documentary. They reveal the backstage
The film entitled "The Road to the European Championships" shows the qualifications for the European Championships and their backstage, as well as a close-up look at several stars of the Swedish team such as Kossovare Asslani, Fridolina Rolfoe, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd and Zecira Musovic.
Television to broadcast three-hour documentary about Swedish womenThe film has been divided into three one-hour episodes, which will be broadcast from 19 June on the last three Thursdays in the days leading up to the championship on SVT's first channel at 9 p.m. It will also be available for several weeks on the free SVT Play channel, which can be watched online on the SVT website.
"The film crew was with us throughout the qualifiers, training camps and pre-match briefings in the changing rooms as well as closed training sessions and it was an amazing experience because we had never had so much media attention, especially from TV," said Manchester City midfielder Filippa Angendahl.
"This is a long and expensive production and we wanted to show our women's team as close as possible and bring them closer to viewers ahead of the European Championships, which will also be broadcast on our channel," explained series producer Tobias Bjoerling.
Sweden have been drawn in a group with Germany, Denmark and Poland, with whom they will face on 8 July.
The Swedish women's team played its first official match in 1973 against Finland (0:0). It has played in nine World Championships, winning five medals, a silver and four bronze. The Swedish women have played in the European Championships 11 times, winning five medals, a gold, three silver and a bronze. They have participated in the Olympic Games seven times, winning two silver medals.
