Lech's coach got furious at the press conference! Swearing was thrown.

Lech Poznań led Rayo Vallecano 2-0 at halftime, but ultimately lost 3-2 after a decisive goal in the 94th minute. Lech Poznań looked increasingly unstable as the minutes ticked by, perhaps due to changes made by coach Niels Frederiksen. The Dane had to explain these changes at the press conference.

"One of the reasons was that we needed a boost of energy and more speed. Our opponents pushed us too hard, and we wanted to look for our chances," Frederiksen began at the press conference.

"We saw after the first half that Mikael Ishak was having some health problems and he was treated at half-time. But I don't agree that we were pushed even lower after he came off. It looked similar," he added.

The changes for Kolejorz were already delayed compared to the planned schedule. The referee repeatedly refused to allow new players onto the pitch, and in the meantime, Lech conceded a goal.

"I don't know if it would have made a difference to us not conceding that goal. I understand why I got the yellow card. I was furious. I've never been in a situation like that in my life. There was one break, two, three, and a fucking fourth. And only then did they let us make a substitution. I've never experienced anything like that," the agitated Dane said.

"There's sadness, great sadness after this match. I'm even saying this through tears now, because it's hard to swallow this defeat. Especially since we played a fantastic first half. We were ahead, I scored, and of course, I was happy. But it doesn't matter now. Because in the second half, in my opinion, we dropped back too much. Sure, they dominated, but we should have been playing further from our penalty area. On the other hand, this is a team from a very strong Spanish league, capable of showing the right quality at the right time. It's a tough moment for us, because we had a chance to score more today," said goalscorer Antoni Kozubal, as quoted by the club's website.
