Eight goals in Barcelona's match with Atletico! Lewandowski with a goal, 90 minutes of Szczęsny

Eight goals in Barcelona's match with Atletico! Lewandowski with a goal, 90 minutes of Szczęsny

In the starting line-up of Barcelona for the semi-final clash of the Copa del Rey with Atletico Madrid this time only one Pole appeared. Compared to previous matches, in the ranks of "Blaugrana" there was no Robert Lewandowski, who was replaced as a striker by Ferran Torres. In goal, Hansi Flick invariably chose Wojciech Szczęsny.

Diego Simeone's team started the match in lightning style. After the first whistle, they rushed towards the goal of the "Pride of Catalonia" and created a dangerous opportunity. In the 20th second, Julian Alvarez headed the ball under the crossbar, but Szczęsny saved it. Half a minute later, Atletico players celebrated a goal. After a cross by Antoine Griezmann, the ball bounced off Pau Cubarsi and fell to Alvarez's feet. The Argentinean hit the post without hesitation.

Atletico's concert continued. In the sixth minute, the team from Madrid was leading 2:0. An inaccurate pass by Jules Kounde in the half of "Los Colchoneros" was intercepted by Alvarez, who immediately started a counterattack. The Argentinean perfectly spotted Griezmann and sent a perpendicular pass to him. The Frenchman won the duel with Alejandro Balde, struck and increased the score to 2:0.

Then the game changed dramatically. The "Pride of Catalonia" took the lead. In the 12th minute, Pedri accelerated from the center of the field to Raphinia, who released Torres from the first one-on-one. However, the Spaniard did not prepare the ball well for the shot and hit the goalkeeper. A moment later, Javi Galan tried to pass Lamine Yamal in a clever way. The Atletico defender fouled the winger, for which he received a yellow card. A dangerous long-range free kick, which was heading straight for the top corner, was parried by Juan Musso.

Barcelona struck the first blow in the 19th minute. Yamal on the right side started Kounde, who passed 11 meters to Pedri, and the Spaniard confidently finished the whole action, connecting his team to oxygen. The equalizer came just 120 seconds later. Raphinha crossed from a corner kick, Cubarsi won the duel in the air and headed the ball into the net.

After two quarters of the game, Torres had another chance. The 25-year-old got to the ball after an inaccurate pass from the Atletico defender and again went one-on-one with Musso. The Spaniard passed the Argentine and shot from 14 meters, but his shot was fouled. However, Flick's team managed to take the lead before the break. Raphinha's corner kick was converted by the completely unattended Inigo Martinez. Cubarsi focused the attention of two defenders on himself, thanks to which his colleague from the defense block remained unattended.

Atletico opened the second half better. Griezmann went one-on-one with Szczęsny, but the Polish goalkeeper made a fantastic save and saved his team from conceding a goal. In the 59th minute, Dani Olmo's shot from a very acute angle was saved by Musso. Then Szczęsny impressed with his footwork. The former Polish international, like a professor, played with Alvarez in his penalty area and passed the ball on.

In the 68th minute, Robert Lewandowski appeared on the pitch at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, replacing the ineffective Ferran Torres. A moment later, Angel Correa showed off some great dribbling. The Argentine then passed to Marcos Llorente, who laid the ball into an empty net for Alexander Sorloth. The Norwegian finished the action, but was offside earlier.

A moment after entering the scoresheet, Lewandowski got his name on the scoresheet. The Pole used a great pass from Yamal and added a foot from close range, scoring the fourth goal for "Blaugrana". After a few moments, the striker of our team had another opportunity, but this time he missed, being under pressure from the defender of the team from Madrid.

Diego Simeone's team was definitely livened up by the entry of Correa. In the 84th minute, the Argentine proved crucial - he assisted Llorente, who scored a goal. Finally, Correa himself had a chance. The 29-year-old fired a shot from 16 meters, but Szczęsny was again on guard, and he caught the ball confidently. However, this was not the last word for Atletico. Samuel Lino's pass from close range was used by Alexander Sorloth, drawing 4:4.
