A goal in extra time decided the game! Legia's conquerors found out who their opponents were in the final

A goal in extra time decided the game! Legia's conquerors found out who their opponents were in the final

It could be said jokingly that Legia Warsaw and Jagiellonia Białystok should play in the semi-finals of the Conference League, because the rivals of both teams will meet in the final. In reality, however, both Chelsea and Betis had to skip another two-legged tie to compete for the trophy.

In the return match of the Conference League semi-final, Chelsea FC left no illusions to the Swedish Djurgarden, although they were economical in their means. They won against their Swedish rival 1-0, but that was more than enough for them. After the first meeting ended in a 4-1 victory, Enzo Maresca's team sealed their advancement to the grand final, where they will compete for the trophy of the third tier of European competitions.

From the very first minutes of the return match, Chelsea dictated the pace of the game. The Blues, fueled by the supporters' support, took the lead only in the 38th minute. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall received a great pass from Tyrique George, deceived two opponents with his body balance, and then ran the ball into the net, on the ground, just past the helpless goalkeeper. The Swedes, although ambitiously trying to make up for the deficit, were unable to threaten the solid defense of the Londoners.

Emotions in Florence. Competition on a knife's edge

The clash between Fiorentina and Real Betis was more even. The Jagiellonia conqueror defeated the Italian rival in Seville 2:1 and in Florence had to defend a modest advantage. The Spanish team took the lead away, after a goal from a free kick by Antony. The equalizer came quickly. Robin Gosens headed in after a corner kick. Fiorentina made up for the deficit completely before the end of the first half, in the 42nd minute, after an accurate header by the same player.

In the second half, there was a lot of turmoil under both goals and there was no shortage of dangerous situations on both sides. However, there were no goals and extra time was necessary. In the 97th minute, Betis scored the decisive goal after a nice, team action. The ball was circulating between the Andalusian players like on a string. At the decisive moment, Antony passed the ball to Abde Ezzalzouli in the middle, who from close range put the ball into the net. After a 2:2 draw, Betis has the desired final and will come to Poland again.

In the final, which will take place on May 28 at Tarczyński Arena Wrocław, Chelsea FC and Real Betis will play. This will be the fourth final of the Conference League, which is the newest UEFA competition.
