Women continue their fight for greater visibility in sports

Although significant progress has been made in women's leadership, Marian Otamendi , director of the World Football Summit, emphasized that women are still somewhat absent from the sport; however, there is a struggle to increase their visibility.
During the event's opening ceremony on Monday, Otamendi highlighted the event's many initiatives focused on women's soccer and women's empowerment.

"Unfortunately, women are still somewhat absent in sports. Sports should be for everyone," she said.
He added that the World Football Summit achieved a female presence of 30 percent of its attendees, as well as 30 percent of its panelists.
"I have a little confession: I always wanted a sister, and now it turns out that in Mexico I have many sisters who are supporting us in the fight to give women much more visibility in the world of sports," she concluded.
