Rodrigo Pacheco Méndez loses

Rodrigo Pacheco Méndez is going to dream about the Bolivian Juan Carlos Prado Ángelo.

For the second consecutive tournament, the South American tennis player was the executioner of the Yucatecan left-hander on the ATP Tour and yesterday he eliminated him in Challenger 75 in Curitiba, Brazil, defeating him in straight sets.

Prado Ángelo, who was ranked 239th on the ATP rankings yesterday, defeated Rodrigo at Challenger 75 in Cali last week, defeating him in the first round in three sets.

Yesterday, in the round of 16 on the clay of Curitiba, he defeated him in two sets, with scores of 7-6 and 6-4. The first set was very even, but the Mexican faltered in the tiebreak, and in the second, the Bolivian took a significant lead that the left-hander from Mérida could not overcome, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Rodrigo entered the tournament in Brazil ranked 203rd on the world rankings and hoped to finish in Curitiba among the top 200 tennis players in the world.

The Yucatecan played in a doubles tournament with Paraguayan Daniel Vallejos and lost in the round of 16, 6-2 and 6-4, to the Brazilian duo of Gabriel Roveri and Joao Lucas da Silva.

The Curitiba tournament, part of the long-running Challenger tour, has a prize pool of one hundred thousand dollars.— Gaspar Silveira
