Game between Saraperos and Algodoneros suspended due to rain; doubleheader on Sunday

Weather conditions prevented the second game of the series between the Saraperos de Saltillo and the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna, originally scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Francisco I. Madero Stadium, from taking place. The heavy rain forced the game to be paused just one minute after the scheduled time, and the three-and-a-half-hour waiting period was activated in accordance with the regulations of the Mexican Baseball League .

After two waiting periods, just after 7:00 p.m., the announcement was made that play would resume at 8:00 a.m. However, as the grounds crew began removing the tarp from the field, the rain returned with a vengeance. The tarp had to be replaced to protect the diamond, and the field's condition was assessed for a second time.

At 7:50 p.m., the announcement of the game's definitive suspension was made official, broadcast through the stadium's commentators. As a rescheduling measure, the league's management determined that the series will continue with a doubleheader this Sunday, May 18, starting at 5:00 p.m.
