Lorenzo Bruni in the National Team
Prato, 12 June 2025 - A brace, which in hindsight proved decisive for the 13-12 with which the Settebello beat Hungary in Naples. Lorenzo Bruni continues to give his contribution also in this new cycle: the technical commissioner Alessandro Campagna confirmed the player from Prato among the players called up also in this new beginning and the response he received was positive also on a mental level. Lorenzo was in fact part of the Italian group returning from Paris 2024, which had said goodbye to the Olympics precisely because of a series of dubious refereeing decisions against Hungary. It follows therefore that, despite being a test match, the one against the Magyars that took place in the Campania capital was not a match like all the others. Even if captain Di Fulvio had reassured, pointing out that there was no problem with the Hungarian rivals. And it actually emerged as a hard-fought but fair match, in which Bruni managed to show off by scoring twice. An encouraging performance also in view of the World Cup: Italy will train with Greece until next Sunday in Thessaloniki, with a friendly match (scheduled for tomorrow in Larissa). From 20 to 22 June in Trapani they will play the “Trinacria Cup” quadrangular tournament again with Hungary (20 June at 18:30) Greece (21 June at 18:30) and Spain (22 June at 16:30). The “common training” will follow in Rome with Croatia until 27 June, with a friendly match (which will be repeated on 28 June in Sebenico). And after a couple of days of break, the Azzurri will leave for Singapore on 4 July: the thirty-one-year-old from Prato will also be part of the “world expedition” and it is not difficult to imagine what his objective could be.
