Prato, 1 July 2025 - The two-day event dedicated to Drifting will be held on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 July in Prato. The second round of the Italian specialty championship, organized by D-Race in collaboration with the Automobile Club of Prato , is scheduled for the square in Viale Marconi, Fiera area. Drifting is coming to the city for the third consecutive year: after the success of the cup organized in 2023 and the 2024 championship, this year sees another date of the Italian championship that will decree the best drivers on a national scale. Making the event in Prato even more appealing is the fact that it is the only stage to take place outside of a racetrack. Drifting is in fact a motorsport discipline of skill that is carried out on reworked cars, generally with rear-wheel drive, that can be held on a racetrack or on a closed road.

Coming to the program of the event, the paddock opens on Friday at 9 am for the set-up. At 4 pm the free practice sessions for all categories (Street Open, Pro 2 and Pro) start. At 7:40 pm the Pro 2 qualifications and at 9:30 pm those of the Pro. Here we immediately understand another novelty: qualifications and the race will be held at night, so as to further increase the spectacle. The next day we start at 1 pm with the free practice sessions of all categories. Then at 4:30 pm the Challenge Italiano Street Open race, at 6 pm the presentation of the Pro 2 and Pro drivers and the Challenge awards. At 7 pm the Pro 2 race and at 9:30 pm the Pro race. At 11:30 pm the award ceremonies.

"We are facing a specialty on the rise, with a very young target of both participants and spectators - explains the director of the Automobile Club of Prato, Claudio Bigiarini -. Past experiences have been very popular and so this year we are hosting a stage of the Italian championship. Among other things, by setting up again the space of the Fiera square that we managed for the months of May and June".
The two-day Prato Drifting event will also be accompanied by stands outside the race area. We will find those of Montebianco Costruzioni with drones filming the championship, then those of Cap, Guidoni, Aci Prato and the University of Florence - Department of Industrial Engineering with the Formula Student project. Participation in the event is free but the race area is closed. You can watch the race only from the banks of the Bisenzio river. It is worth remembering the record number of registrations: over 60, almost double compared to the previous year.
